Antwort: Moving an R/3 system from one AS/400 to another

Hi all,

thanks Volker vor his suggestion. We have the same requests because of many
Euro-test- and Upgrade-test-
systems that are necessary out of database-copies at release 4.6B. The
procedure with CD's and reloading the big databases in interactive-mode is
no good handling. In case of errors we had to start the whole procedure in
the past again. How 'easy' it was at 3.1I ....
I think SAP should check to write a new OSS-note in dependence of Volkers
suggestion.

regards

Hello Kunibert,

as these procedures are no longer tested it is perhaps no good choice to do
this.
When you want to do this, you might want to use note 109835, because note
36862 needs an installation CD set as well.

Please handle the following steps different:
note 109835:
step 1: Please create the following users as well: SIDOWNER and SIDGROUP
CRTUSRPRF USRPRF(<SID>OWNER) PASSWORD(*NONE) AUT(*EXCLUDE)
CHGOBJOWN OBJ(<SID>OWNER) OBJTYPE(*USRPRF) NEWOWN(R3OWNER)
CRTUSRPRF USRPRF(<SID>GROUP) PASSWORD(*NONE) AUT(*EXCLUDE)
CHGOBJOWN OBJ(<SID>GROUP) OBJTYPE(*USRPRF) NEWOWN(R3OWNER)

note 36862:
step 9: please do the AS4FIXFILE as follows in order to change the owner of
the tables from the old <SID>OWNER to the new <SID>OWNER:
AS4FIXFILE DBLIB(R3<SID>DATA) CHGOWN(*YES) ENDJRN(*YES / *NO)
NEWOWN(*SIDOWNER)

As this are only ideas, there is no garantee that this works fine.
