Cause . . . . . : The dialog variable for the VAR attribute on the APPFMT tag must be defined with a base type of CHAR. The base type of the &1 dialog variable specified for the VAR attribute on the APPFMT tag is not CHAR.
Recovery . . . : Define the &1 dialog variable for the VAR attribute on the APPFMT tag with base type of CHAR, or specify a different dialog variable. Then try the request again.
