SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you can define the organizational areas and their characteristics for a country or region.

You can also define whether an organizational area is a military or civilian zone or whether it is a policing or an aid organization.

The standard system already contains a range of pre-defined organizational areas and organizational area types that you can use.

You can also change the descriptions of these standard organizational areas and change their characteristics, if required.

We recommend that you work with these standard organizational areas.

Check that these standard organizational areas meet your requirements.

If necessary, create new organizational areas:

  1. Enter a two digit country/region key in the field Country/Region.
Note that different countries/regions can have different organizational areas, meaning that organizational areas are country/region-specific.
When you create new organizational areas for different countries/regions, we recommend that you use the copy function and then change the data accordingly.
  2. In the "Org.Area" field, enter a key for the organizational area.
  3. In the "Nato Code UIC" field, enter the NATO code that represents the UIC of a force element that corresponds to the organizational area.
  4. In the "Abbr" field, you can enter an abbreviation for the new organizational area.
This abbreviation can be up to four digits long and can comprise numbers, letters, or special characters. However, since this field is language-dependent, we recommend you use letters.
  5. In the "Description" field, enter a description of your new organizational area.
  6. In the "OrgArTy" field, use the input help to select the organizational area type to be used to group your organizational area.
  7. By setting the "Hide" indicator, you can hide a structure type within the standard transactions.
This function is useful if you no longer want an organizational area to be used, but you cannot delete it because it is still used in infotype 1950. Hidden organizational areas can no longer be used in the standard transactions.
