Business Relationship Since

In 2004, Timberland faced the challenge of replacing its DCW system in Asia and Europe by an SAP accounting system in order to react flexibly to current market requirements. While a shared service center was already in operation in Asia, this still needed to be developed in Europe. At the same time, changes needed to be made to internal procedures and responsibilities.

As a long-term partner, consolut ensured rapid, holistic migration from the predecessor system as well as know-how transfer concerning internal processes largely independently in liaison with the parent company.

In order to ensure smooth and trouble-free implementation, the shared service centers in Asia and Europe were first changed over in two steps.

A special feature of the project was the migration of all transaction data since the start of system operation. Thanks to the DCW expertise of the consultants, it was possible to take large parts of the analysis from the DCW customizing tables, which considerably shortened the blueprint and realization phase.

The highlight of the project was implementation in parallel to the introduction of the shared service center, which brought with it considerable changes in responsibilities. Other challenges included cultural requirements and the coordination of different time zones.
