Cause . . . . . : Your interval size (&1 minutes) may be too large. The recommended size is 15 minutes or less. Large interval sizes cause incidences of bad performance to be lost due to averaging. For example, if the CPU utilization is high (90%) for 15 minutes, but low (50%) for 45 minutes, then a 60 minute interval period would report normal utilization (60%). A 15 minute interval report would detect the high utilization in 1 out of 4 intervals.
Your interval size may be appropriate if you are trying to analyze overall system capacity. For problem analysis however, you need to reduce the interval size.
Recovery . . . : When you start the Collection Services, specify 15 minutes or less for the Default collection interval.
