The queue length refers to the average number of disk ops waiting for service on a disk unit. A disk op must wait if the device is busy servicing another disk op or it is busy in an error recovery procedure.
This problem is most often caused by over utilized disk, improperly balanced disk within an ASP, or files being unevenly spread after adding disk units. If the average queue length is greater than 10 times the guideline disk error recovery is probable and should be investigated.
