Increasing the pool size will reduce the page fault rate which will improve the response time and throughput of jobs in this pool.
Decreasing the pool size will free storage that may in turn be given to pools with high fault rates.
Removing a pool will free storage that may in turn be given to pools with high fault rates.
A pool will be increased by at least ten percent of its current size. Pools that are decreased will all be decreased by the same percentage, with ten percent of the current size as the maximum amount of decrease. For example, if a 1500K pool needs storage, and a 2000K and 1000K pool can be decreased, the 1500K pool will increase to 1650K(+150K), the 2000K pool will be decreased to 1900K(-100K) and the 1000K pool will be decreased to 950K(-50K). Note the the increase was ten percent, the decrease for the two pools was five percent each.
