Compatibility Rules for Release Contract C1

The release contract crucial for accessing APIs from ABAP programs is C1. It guarantees stable APIs for use within the same AS ABAP. Release contract C1 currently allows the following compatible changes to released APIs.

Allowed Changes to Dictionary Objects

Release contract C1 currently allows the following compatible changes to dictionary objects that are released as APIs:

• Non-key fields can be added to DDIC database tables

Allowed Changes to ABAP CDS Objects

Release contract C1 currently allows the following compatible changes to CDS objects that are released as APIs:

• Non-key fields can be added to CDS entities
