SAP E-Book

Purpose

The read log viewer of the SAP Application Interface Framework (AIF) displays all read accesses to the content of messages or uploaded files containing fields that you have marked as read log relevant.

The AIF read log helps you to track user activities and fulfill data protection and privacy requirements.

Integration

You can mark fields as read log relevant using the /AIF/READ_LOG_CUST transaction.

The read log tracks accesses that users make to these fields using one of the following applications:

  • Error Handling (Web)

Prerequisites

Features

Choose Messages to display additional information, for example, fields that are marked as relevant for the read log but which no longer exist in the DDIC.

Selection

  • Types
You can select the entity types for which you want to display the read accesses. Depending on this selection, additional type-specific selection criteria are displayed.
  • Dates
You can define a date and time range for the accesses you want to see.
  • Message Content
Enabled if Message Content is selected under Types. Wildcards are allowed. Leaving one of the fields empty results in the selection of all relevant objects. Choosing Select Interface opens a pop-up with a more convenient hierarchical selection.
  • Uploaded Files
Enabled if Uploaded Files is selected under Types. Wildcards are allowed. Leaving one of the fields empty results in the selection of all relevant objects.

Standard Variants

Output

The object hierarchy tree on the left hand side allows you to select the accessed objects on different levels. You can select one node or multiple nodes within the same type and choose Read to display the corresponding log entries on the right hand side.

For each message content access, the following is displayed:

  • GUID of the data message
  • Message namespace
  • Message interface and interface version
  • Application in which the access was made
  • Path and field name of the accessed field
  • Date and time of the read access
  • User who accessed the data

For each access to a file, the same is displayed plus the long path to the file whose content the user displayed before uploading.
