Use

You use this report to transfer qRFC, tRFC, and CIF PP entries (that got stuck in the queue) and BDC entries into the SAP Application Interface Framework storage including persistence tables, index tables, and statistics tables. Based on the transfer of the data, you can use the SAP Application Interface Framework monitoring functions to monitor qRFC, tRFC, CIF PP, and BDC queues.

The Data Transfer report (transaction code /AIF/TRANSFER) can be scheduled regularly in the central system. The report uses a read function to read which systems should be checked for data from a configuration table, in which the logical systems and RFC destinations of the connected systems are defined. The existing transactions of each logical system are passed on to the read function, which then determines if transactions are new, have been restarted, or have been deleted since the last update. The report takes the transaction data and uses the enabler to update the data in the persistence of the SAP Application Interface Framework. In addition, the enabler can update index tables, which are the basis for e-mail notification, authorizations, and role-based display in the Interface Monitor. An interface is created together with the corresponding data structures in the SAP Application Interface Framework so that users can display data and the logs in the central monitoring system.

You can start the report as follows:

  • Use transaction /AIF/TRANSFER and starting it manually
  • Use transaction SM36 to schedule it as a batch job (it can be run periodically)
  • Use transactions /AIF/IFMON and /AIF/ERR
If you use one of these two transactions, the report is started automatically if at least one qRFC, tRFC, CIF PP, or BDC interface has been selected.

Integration

You can use the report /AIF/QRFC_DELETE_ALL_ENTRIES to delete existing data records from SAP Application Interface Framework index, persistence, and statistics tables.

Prerequisites

You have to make configuration settings for the qRFC, tRFC, CIF PP, or BDC integration by means of transaction /AIF/TJ_CONFIG prior to running the corresponding data transfer. Only after doing so, can the Data Transfer report read qRFC/tRFC, CIF PP, or BDC entries from specific systems.

Features

Selection

  • Name of Selection Set
A selection set is composed of a set of external or local systems.
  • Package Size
You have to define a suitable data set size for the persisting data.
The default value is 100.
  • Transfer Complete
If this checkbox is selected, index, persistence, and structure table data of the SAP Application Interface Framework are initially refreshed and then the Data Transfer report collects the up-to-date qRFC, tRFC, CIF PP, and BDC entries from specific systems.
In the CIF PP scenario, for example, if the records are deleted through the CIF PP native transaction /SAPAPO/CPPR, the corresponding data (index table entries, logs) in SAP Application Interface Framework becomes corrupted data. To exactly synchronize both systems, you can run this report and select the Transfer Complete checkbox.
  • Output Execution Details
For CIP PP and BDC scenarios, there is no special output for user interaction.
See the F1 help for more information.

Standard Variants

Output

  • Name of Selection Set
By defining a selection set, you define which qRFC, tRFC, CIP PP, or BDC transactions are to be written to the database. You can thus limit the amount of data records that are collected.
If you do not define a selection set, the system collects all the qRFC, tRFC, CIP PP, and BDC entries available.
  • Package Size
If you have entered a Package Size of 100 this means that the system writes up to and including 100 data entries to the database table.

Activities

You can also access this report by entering the transaction code /AIF/RFC_FUNC_GEN.
