/AIF/VALUE_MAPPING - Maintenance of Value Mapping

Purpose

In the SAP Application Interface Framework, the Maintenance of Value Mappings report is used to define a value mapping table. This value mapping can be used to either map a single external value to one internal value or to map multiple external values to one internal value.

Integration

Prerequisites

A value mapping must be created in Customizing for the SAP Application Interface Framework under Interface Development -> Define Value Mappings.

Features

Selection

Enter the namespace and the value mapping name. The values for the Database Table Type and Value Mapping Type fields are inserted automatically. Enter a value in the Sending System field if the data to be used in the value mapping is to be received by the specified business system.

Standard Variants

Output

The Maintenance of Value Mappings transaction displays the data entered in the selection screen. The table below this data enables you to enter your required value mappings. To enter messages, you should switch to change mode. You are then able to append empty lines to the table that can be filled with the external value(s) and the corresponding internal value.

Optionally, you are also able to maintain a validity period for the value mapping. Depending on the settings in Customizing for the SAP Application Interface Framework under Interface Development-> Define Value Mappings, either the validity dates or the validity period number or both are visible.

If only the dates are visible, you can enter a period for the Date From and Date To fields.

The dates that are maintained for the validity period number are displayed in the Date From and Date To fields if the validity period type validity period number is used and the validity period number is set.

After saving, the Date To field is recalculated for each value combination, which includes all values but excludes the internal value.
