Purpose

This report helps you test and preview the CPFR data provided for a vendor. You can see the generated results by choosing the appropriate set of data to display from the left tree.

The CPFR test tool is used ONLY for testing and display purposes. This is a wrapper around the external function /FRE/BIF_CPFR_DATA_PROVIDE. If you want to exchange data with external systems, the RFC function /FRE/BIF_CPFR_DATA_PROVIDE must be called.

Integration

Prerequisites

CPFR parameters need to be maintained for products supplied by the requested vendors in order for you to obtain results; otherwise, the system generates error messages. Choose the Exceptions line from the left tree to see the errors. When you choose to display the exceptions from the left tree, this corresponds to a standard BAPIRET2 structure for an external RFC.

You define these CPFR product parameters using transaction Maintain CPFR Parameters.

Features

Selection

Enter the CPFR vendors for which you want to test the CPFR results.

You can enter a list, range, or single vendor. If you select several vendors, the results are displayed only for vendors that have CPFR products defined.

If you select only one vendor, do not select the parallel process option since the parallel process can only split different vendors. Data cannot be split into multiple processes within one vendor.

Standard Variants

Output

The output is displayed in the right side grid. To see the different data that will be provided, choose the corresponding data to display from the left tree. Data from the grid can be sorted, printed, exported, filtered, and so on.

  • Header

This is general information about the source locations, target locations, and products. A grid shows information such as :

Vendor number along with its vendor Global Location Number (GLN) and Data Universal Numbering System from Dun & Bradstreet (DUNS)

Target location number with its GLN and DUNS

Product number with its EAN/UPC code, vendor product number, and unit of measure

To see detailed CPFR information for these location products, choose the corresponding information to display from the left tree:

  • Tactical Forecast

Displays forecast vendor products for which a tactical horizon is specified in the CPFR parameters. The grid displays the source location and target locations and products with their forecast values for each of the future weeks defined, as well as the listing status. Each target location shows as many weeks as are defined in the CPFR parameters for the product in the tactical horizon.

The forecast is shown for the CPFR products defined with the tactical detail level set to Detailed or Both (cumulative and detailed).

The supplied locations for a tactical forecast are determined by the Source Of Supply (SOS) determination based on the transportation lanes. This ensures that the system processes only the DIRECTLY delivered product/location.

The tactical forecast is based on the time series active forecast without safety amount (ACTIVE_FC_MEAN). You can switch to FC_MEAN by using a BADI.

The number of weeks provided for the tactical forecast depends on the entries made in the field Tactical Forecast Horizon in Weeks on the CPFR parameter screen /FRE/CPFR_PARAM. If the number of weeks requested for the tactical forecast is greater then the standard forecast horizon defined in Customizing, the forecast will be automatically extended to this longer period during the forecast calculation within the FRP process.

  • Tactical DIF Effects

Displays the vendor products for which a tactical forecast is specified in the CPFR parameters. The grid displays the source locations, target locations and products with their DIF effect values for each of the future weeks defined, as well as the listing status. Each target location shows the same number of weeks as the tactical forecast.

It is not possible to directly request the tactical DIF effects using the CPFR parameter screen /FRE/CPFR_PARAM. The tactical DIF effects are provided automatically when the tactical forecast is requested.

The tactical DIF effects are based on the time series DIF effect in forecast value (FC_DIF_EFFECT).

  • Tactical Order Forecast

Displays the vendor products for which a tactical order forecast horizon is specified in the CPFR parameters. The grid displays the source locations, target locations and products with their order forecast values for each of the future weeks defined, as well as the listing status.

The order forecast is shown for the CPFR products defined with the tactical order forecast detail level set to Detailed or Both (cumulative and detailed).

The tactical order forecast is based on:

Forecasted consumption

Current stock on hand

Open receipts and goods issues

Scheduling

Rounding information

The fully optimized quantity of the currently planned order proposal as an open receipt.

The tactical order forecast is based on the time series "order forecast for CPFR" (ORD_FC_CPFR). This is a special time series used only by CPFR. It is the same as the standard order forecast time series (ORD_FC), but with a different access by vendor/product.

The number of weeks provided for the tactical order forecast depends on the entries made in the field Tactical Order Forecast Horizon in Weeks on the CPFR parameter screen /FRE/CPFR_PARAM.

  • Operational Forecast

Displays the vendor products for which an operational forecast is requested in the CPFR parameters. The grid shows the source locations, target locations and products with their forecast values for each of the future weeks defined, as well as the listing status. Each target location shows as many weeks as there are in the forecast horizon, unless some of these weeks are in the past and the forecast is not run frequently enough for this product.

The supplied locations for operational forecast are determined based on the forecast result calculated by the FRP process. During the FRP process, the database /FRE/MATLOC_FRP is filled with all the automatically replenished product locations. The operational forecast is based on this database output to ensure that the system processes only those product/locations that have forecasts calculated by the FRP process. If a specific product/location was not processed during the last FRP run, it will not be issued in the CPFR output.

The operational forecast is based on the same time series as the tactical forecast: active forecast without safety amount (ACTIVE_FC_MEAN).

The number of weeks provided for the operational forecast is NOT determined in the CPFR parameter screen, but rather in the field Oper. Forecast Horizon defined in the Customizing screen SPRO->Forecasting & Replenishment->F&R processor->Maintain Base Profiles

The operational forecast is for stores only, not distribution centers.

  • Operational DIF Effects

Displays the vendor products for which an operational forecast is specified in the CPFR parameters. The grid displays the source locations, target locations and products with their DIF effect values for each of the future weeks defined, as well as the listing status. Each target location shows the same number of weeks as the operational forecast.

It is not possible to directly request the Operational DIF effects using the CPFR parameter screen /FRE/CPFR_PARAM. The operational DIF effects are provided automatically when the operational forecast is requested.

The operational DIF effects are based on the time series DIF effects in forecast value (FC_DIF_EFFECT).

  • Operational Order Forecast

Displays the vendor products for which the operational order forecast flag is set in the CPFR parameter screen/FRE/CPFR_PARAM.

The operational order forecast is based on the time series "order forecast" (ORD_FC).

The number of weeks provided for the operational order forecast depends on the entries made in the field Output Weekly Forecast of the Master Data Mass Maintenance transaction for product location /FRE/MASS_MATLOC.

  • Consumption

Displays the vendor products for which the consumption period is specified in the CPFR parameters. The grid displays the source locations, target locations and products with their consumption values for each of the past weeks defined, as well as the listing status. Each target location shows as many weeks as there are in the requested consumption period.

Consumption is the only data in the past that you can provide. This can be used by your vendors to compare the data with previous forecasts to ensure accuracy of their forecasts.

The supplied locations for the consumption are determined based on the master data product location database (/SAPAPO/MATLOC). You can see and change information for the product/location master data using transaction /FRE/MASS_MATLOC.

Consumption is based on the merged consumptions time series (M_CONS_DATA). You can switch to CONS_DATA by using a BADI.

  • Cumulative

Displays the vendor products and general information such as the vendor Global Location Number (GLN), DUNS, product number with its EAN/UPC code, vendor product number and unit of measure. The source locations and products listed here are the ones for which the detail level /FRE/CPFR_PARAM screen is set to Cumulative for the tactical forecast detail and/or tactical order forecast detail level. This implies that the tactical forecast detail level or tactical order forecast detail level of the CPFR product is set to Cumulative or Both (cumulative and detailed).

For the standard tactical forecast, one record is issued for each source location/ target location/product.

For the cumulative forecast, one record is issued for each source location/product. All target locations are aggregated together.

The cumulative forecast is useful for vendors who only want to know how many articles will be ordered in the next weeks for all your stores.

  • Cumulative Forecast

Displays the vendor products for which a tactical forecast horizon with a cumulative detail level (set to Cumulative or Both) is specified in the CPFR parameters. The grid displays the source locations and products with their cumulative forecast values for each of the future weeks defined, as well as the listing status. The forecast value is the cumulative forecast value of the directly supplied locations by product and by week. Each product shows forecasts for the number of weeks specified in the CPFR parameters for the tactical forecast horizon.

CPFR products displayed when you press the Cumul button are also displayed here with their cumulative tactical forecast information.

For the cumulative forecast, the same rules apply as for the tactical forecast concerning the time series, horizon, and so on.

The cumulative forecast is issued only when a tactical forecast is requested but NOT when the operational forecast is requested.

  • Cumulative DIF Effects

Displays information similar to the Cumulative Forecast. However, the cumulative DIF effect is displayed instead of the cumulative forecast. The DIF effect is the cumulative DIF effect value of the directly supplied location by product and by week.

For the cumulative DIF effects, the same rules apply as for the tactical forecast concerning the time series, horizon, and so on.

It is not possible to directly request the cumulative DIF effects using the CPFR parameter screen /FRE/CPFR_PARAM. The cumulative DIF effects are provided automaticaly when the tactical forecast is requested.

  • Cumulative Order Forecast

Displays the vendor products for which a tactical order forecast horizon with a cumulative detail level set to Cumulative or Both is specified in the CPFR parameters. The grid displays the source location and products with their cumulative order forecast values for each of the future weeks defined, as well as the listing status. The order forecast value is the cumulative forecast value of the directly supplied locations by product and by week. Each product shows forecasts for the number of weeks specified in the CPFR parameters for the tactical order forecast horizon.

CPFR products displayed when you press the Cumul ative button are also displayed here with their cumulative order forecast information.

For the cumulative order forecast, the same rules apply as for the tactical order forecast concerning the time series, horizon, and so on.

  • Exceptions

Displays any error messages that were generated.

The format of the exceptions in output is based on the standard BAPIRETTAB used for every RFC function.
