Purpose

You can use this report to import one or multiple files from an internally specified directory using a standard converter.

Integration

• To avoid timeouts, this report should be executed in batch mode.

• To move files from import directory to archive or error directory, subdirectories are required. For a batch user to handle the file transfer, sufficient authorizations are also required.

• Multiple files can be processed in parallel using RFC.

Prerequisites

As the prerequisites, you need to:

• Configure a medium with application server setting.

• Configure a converter. Use a predefined medium with application server setting.

• Configure a logical file with type DIR and assign it to your import directory.

• Create the following subfolders in your directory:

• Error

• Archive

• Configure the converter attributes and specify a logical file name under the input/output path attribute.

In this field you can specify the number of files to be imported in parallel. To avoid leveraging all dialog processes, the converter internal parallelization settings should be taken into consideration for defining the maximum number.

• Processing Control

• Process (Batch)

With this option, processing occurs in batch mode.

• Import (Process Automatically)

With this option, data import is done automatically.

Standard Variants

Output

When executed in batch mode, error logs are written to the spool output. In dialog mode, the details are returned directly.

The batch return code (BATCH_RC) attribute is set as follows:

• 4 if single file import fails.

• 8 if multiple file imports fail.

• 16 for input and configuration errors with regards to the file directory.
