Purpose

You use this report to control how the system performs where-used checks for change items.

The available alternatives are:

  • All Migrated
If you set this radio button, you tell the system that it no longer needs to access the case management-based XML storage when doing where-used checks for change items, because you have migrated all relevant engineering records and change items.
  • Not All Migrated
If you set this radio button, you tell the system to do where-used checks for change items in both the XML storage and the engineering record database tables. This may be necessary if you have not yet migrated all relevant change items.

Note that you can also run a report to delete change items from the XML storage at any time after migration: Delete Engineering Record Change Items from XML Storage (/PLMI/ER_CI_DELETE).

Integration

Prerequisites

  • The authorization object PLM Authorizations for Eng. Record Change Item Migration (PLM_ECR_CI) must be assigned to your user.

Output

Activities

  1. Run the prerequisite report Migrate Change Items from XML Storage to Engineering Record Database (/PLMI/ER_CI_TRANSFER).
  2. Open this report, Set Migration Status for Engineering Record Change Items (/PLMI/ER_CI_SET_TRANSFER) in transaction SE38.
  3. Set the relevant radio button based on the information above.
  4. Choose Execute.

Example

The primary example is the where-used checks for change items when you use the object navigator to navigate from change numbers to engineering records

,,1. On the PLM Web UI, choose Display Change Number and enter a change number to call up the Change ,,Master.

,,2. Choose You Can Also -> Display in Object Navigator.
,,The Object Navigator screen for the corresponding change number opens.

When you choose the Linked Change Records ECN_2_ECR tab (note that this tab may have different names depending on your Customizing settings), the system will display the engineering records which contain this change number. Depending on your setting in this report, the system will search for this data either in the XML storage and engineering record database tables, or only in the engineering record database tables.
