Purpose

PRA DATA Optimization solution for valuation tables is based on below concept:

If an item within a DN (Delivery Network)/Sales Date is posted repeatedly, it is only the most recent posted reference that is needed for PPAs. Therefore, if a booking item has been posted more than once, only the most recent entry has future purpose for PPAs and other booking lines can be deleted from VL Staging tables i.e. /PRA/VL_ACC_DOC, /PRA/VL_ACC_MKT, /PRA/VL_ACC_TAX, /PRA/VL_ACC_DED.

- The report presents a selection screen offering five selection parameters i.e. (A) Run Date (by default set as SY-DATUM); (B) Delivery Network; (C) Sales Month; (D) Valuation Doc No; (E) Document Year and two radio-buttons i.e. (A) Document Level & (B) Line Item Level.

- Any one of the selection input is required otherwise program execution gets cancelled.

- Once input(s) is(are) provided, you can continue with the execution of the report, which schedules a background job that will perform the deletion of booking lines from staging tables. When the background job is successfully submitted, job name gets displayed at the bottom of the selection screen.

- Based on input, reversal keys are fetched from /PRA/RD_RVSL_KLN. These records suggest that the VL document line numbers are required for reversals in future VL PPN documents.

- Deletion is taking place as per retention scope i.e. Document Level or Line Item Level.

- When 'Document Level' is selected, each VL document is processed and checked if at least one record exists in the reversal key line numbers (fetched in previous step) for the VL document. If yes, then the document is removed from further processing.

- When 'Line Item Level' is selected, each booking record of a VL document is processed and checked if there exists a corresponding entry in the reversal key line numbers table. If a record exists, then booking line item from deletion is skipped. Rest all the booking line items are fit for deletion.

- Once the background job is complete, check the 'Job Log' to see all the affected VL Doc No along with Doc Year. Same records also get stored in /PRA/BK_DEL_LOG table as well.
