Description

Conditions: Archiving of Condition Records (Delete Database Records)

Archiving of condition records uses the 'ARCHIVE DEVELOPMENT KIT' (ADK)
Use transaction 'SARA' for archiving.
However, you can call separate programs and in this way archive records individually.

The following programs have been created for archiving:

  1. RV130001:
Create archiving objects in an archive
Program documentation
  1. RV130002:
Physical deletion of database records for archiving objects that have been created using RV130001
  1. RV130003:
Option of reloading to the database for archiving objects that have been created using RV130001 and physically deleted using RV130002.
Program documentation

This program should always be run directly after RV130001 so that the archived condition records are deleted in a timely fashion from the database. This is done with transaction 'SARA'.

If you start the program manually, the system displays all the archived data that has not yet been physically deleted from the database.

You have the following options:

  • Test run (without deletion):
If you set this indicator, database entries are not physically deleted from the database.
When you start the run using transaction SARA, the parameter is transferred from RV130001.
  • Archive file:
Manual entry is possible. If you make no entry, the program displays all the archive files that have not been deleted.
When you start the run using transaction SARA, the parameter is transferred from RV130001.
  • Detailed log:
If set, the system displays all the data records that are to be deleted.

Requirements

Archive files to be delethave to exist for the archiving object 'SD_COND'.

Output

Normal or detailed log.

  1. If the program is only for testing purposes, that is you do not want it to actually delete any data, select the option Test mode.
For this the variant entered in Archiving-Object-Specific Customizing under Settings for the delete program in the field Test mode variant is used.
(If the test mode option is not selected, then the system will use the variant specified in Archiving-Object-Specific Customizing in the field Production mode variant.)
  2. Specify which data should be deleted with the pushbutton Archive selection.
  3. Specify when the job should run with the pushbutton Start time.
  4. Specify how the delete log is to be processed with the pushbutton Spool parameter.
(For further information on Spool Management, refer to the "Introduction to the SAP System" in the SAP library under the section "Print".)
  5. Select Generate job to create the job with the set values.
With Environment -> Job Overview, a list of all jobs available for the current archiving program in job management is displayed.
(For further details on Background Jobs, refer to the SAP library in the area SAP NetWeaver, System Administration, section "Scheduling Background Jobs".)
