Purpose

The use of this report is optional.

You use this report if you want the numbering in your new EWM system (destination system) to continue where you stopped in your old EWM system (source system). For more information, see the example below.

At what point in your migration project do you use this report? When you are done implementing your new productive EWM system, and you have stopped your old productive EWM system, but you have not yet gone live with your new productive EWM system.

On the first screen, you enter the RFC destination, the warehouse number of your old EWM system, and the warehouse number of your new EWM system.

You then enter one or more number range objects that are used in EWM and for which you want to migrate the status. You can enter specific number range objects or leave this field initial if you want all of the number range objects that are used in EWM to be migrated. The same logic applies to the tab Cross-Warehouse Ranges.

When you run the report, two sets of number range objects are returned. The set at the top of the screen (Ready to Migrate) includes the number ranges for which it is possible to migrate the number range status. The set at the bottom of the screen (Migration Not Possible (Not Required)) includes the number ranges for which it is not possible or necessary to migrate the number range status, along with the reason why the status can’t (or won’t) be migrated.

For the set of number range objects that are ready to be migrated, you can manually change the value of the new status or add an offset to the source status for selected entries using the field Correction Value.

When the new statuses have the desired values and you are ready to execute the final migration, select the entries and choose Migrate NR Status. Then the new statuses are written to the database.

Integration

Prerequisites

The number ranges for which you want to use this report must have been created previously in Customizing in the new system. Ideally, you create them exactly as they are in the source system. At a minimum, the old and new number ranges should have a large interval of numbers in common.

Example

One of the number ranges used in EWM is defined as follows:

  • Source System 6000000000 – 6999999999 and status is 6000009877
  • Target System 6000000000 – 6999999999 and status is 6000000001

When you go live with your new EWM system, you do not want the numbering to begin with 6000000001; rather, you want the numbering to begin where it stopped in the old system, which is 6000009877.

You then use this report to migrate the status with the value 6000009877 from your old EWM system to your new EWM system.
