Purpose
You use this report to convert instances of the Use and Exposure Scenario property into the new Use Collection property used in SAP Product and REACH Compliance 2.0, SP02.
Prerequisites
- You previously used SAP Product and REACH Compliance 2.0, SP01.
- You have installed SAP REACH Compliance 2.0, SP02 and you have synchronized your Customizing settings with the master client, in particular, the property trees, value assignment types, classes and characteristics.
- You have checked that the Use Collection property (key: SAP_RCS_EXPSCE) exists.
Features
Conversion Mode
The report offers the following conversion modes:
- Move
- New instances of the Use Collection property are created based on the active instances of the Uses and Exposure Scenario property. The active instances of the Uses and Exposure Scenario property are subsequently deleted. Inactive instances of the Uses and Exposure Scenario property and instances of the Uses and Exposure Scenario property that are referenced by a link from an Use Collection instance are not changed.
- Copy
- New instances of the Use Collection property are created based on the active instances of the Uses and Exposure Scenario property. The instances of the Uses and Exposure Scenario property are not deleted.
- Copy and Link
- New instances of the Use Collection property are created based on the active instances of the Uses and Exposure Scenario property. The instances of the Uses and Exposure Scenario property are not deleted. In addition, the new instances of the Use Collection property are linked to the instances of the Uses and Exposure Scenario property.
All three modes can run in test mode. When you use the test mode, the report does not write any changes to the database.
Conversion Logic
The report implements a conversion logic to fill the evaluation status in the Use Collection property according to the registration status in the Uses and Exposure Scenario property. You can set an evaluation status for each corresponding registration status. The conversion logic includes the following activities:
- Creation of instances of the Use Collection property
- If an instance with the same use descriptors and the same main user group already exists, a warning is written to the application log and the instance is not changed.
- Deletion of active instances of the Use and Exposure Scenario property for the move mode
- Linking of active instances for the copy and link mode
- Filling of evaluation status according to the registration status
- The evaluation status is determined according the settings for the conversion logic for evaluation status on the selection screen.
- Deletion of registration status Not Supported
- The registration status Not Supported is substituted with the corresponding evaluation status according to the settings for the conversion logic for evaluation status on the selection screen (Not Relevant is the default setting).
- Deletion of registration status Not Reported
- The registration status Not Reported is substituted with an empty value.
- Filling of the main user group depending on the following three relevant sector of use phrases:
- Sector of use phrase SU 3 Industrial uses... is converted to main user group phrase Industrial.
- Sector of use phrase SU 21 Consumer uses ... is converted to main user group phrase Consumer.
- Sector of use phrase SU 22 Professional uses ... is converted to main user group phrase Professional.
- If more than one of the three relevant sector of use phrases is assigned to an instance of the Use and Exposure Scenario property, the instance is split into different Use Collection instances.
- For an instance of the Use Collection property, the three relevant sector of use phrases are deleted from the set of assigned sector of use phrases.
The report sets a lock to ensure that the report does not perform two conversion processes at the same time.
Selection
The report selects all specifications with active instances within the Uses and Exposure Scenario property. You can use the Specification Type and Specification fields to restrict the range of specifications to be converted.
The report converts instances of the Use and Exposure Scenario property in packages. You can define the number of instances per package.
You can define the number of days that the application log is kept for.
Output
The reports builds packages of specifications that have to be converted and it processes the specifications for each package. For each specification, the report selects and converts active instances of the Use and Exposure Scenario property.
After the conversion is finished, the report displays an application log containing information about the instances of the Use and Exposure Scenario property that were converted.
If there is an error, the application log lists any conversion errors and the report processes the next instance of the Use and Exposure Scenario property. The system only stops processing if there is a critical error such as an error when saving the buffer. In this case, the system only writes changes for the previously processed packages to the database.
If the report is running actively (not in test mode) or if the report is running in the background, the application log is persistent. You can display the log using transaction SLG1 with object /TDAG/CP and subobject CONVERSION.
