Purpose

You use this report to test whether the delta downgrade protection check (delta DGP check) works correctly. You can specify the following parameters:

  • The ID of the change cycle or QGM scenario on which the test will run
  • The target system for the import
  • Optionally, an e-mail address to receive the results of the test
  • Whether you want to run this report now or at a later point of time
  • A start date and start time if you want to run this report at a later point of time

Optionally, you can schedule this report in the job management (transaction SM36 or SM37). In in job management, you have more options for scheduling the report, such as periodic scheduling.

Activities

This test report will perform a full downgrade protection (DGP) check first, and then a delta DGP check. The full DGP check is standalone and will not affect the history data or the behavior of the delta DGP check. Both checks are done on all transport requests associated with the cycle and importable to the target system. The test report compares the results of the DGP checks. Ideally, the results of the full DGP check and the results of the delta DGP check are identical. If the results are not identical, the delta DGP check must have an error and, to protect further DGP checks that you do for real, the delta DGP switch in the table AGS_WORK_CUSTOM will automatically be switched off so that full check will be used instead. The result of the test report will be recorded in the application log under object /TMWFLOW/CMSCV, sub-object CROSS_SYS_OBJ_LOCK. If you have provided an e-mail address, the result will also be sent to the e-mail address.

To run this report immediately, fill in the cycle or scenario ID and the target system. Choose Start now and then execute.

To run this report at a specific date and time, fill in the cycle or scenario ID and the target system. Choose Start later. In Start date and Start time, fill in the desired start date and start time and then execute.

To schedule this report in job management, fill in the cycle or scenario ID and the target system. Choose Save as variant..., enter the variant name and description, and then choose Save. Call transaction SM36, choose Job wizard, follow the steps of the wizard to specify the report name and the variant, and to schedule the teat report as you desire.

Note: Try to avoid that this report runs while an import on the same target system also runs. Also, avoid that this report runs while a cycle level DGP check on the same target system also runs. Such parallel running will invalidate the test result. If the report detects that an import or cycle level DGP check is running during the test, it will cancel the test.

When you are not sure if a real delta DGP check that you have performed has the right result, you can do the following to use this test report to simulate the check, to compare the results of the full DGP check and the results of the delta DGP check and to report if results are identical or not:

  1. Back up the test data if necessary, including all data in the /TMWFLOW/DGP_TDL, /TMWFLOW/DGP_TDC, /TMWFLOW/DGP_TAL, /TMWFLOW/DGP_TAC, /TMWFLOW/DGP_TFU, /TMWFLOW/DGP_TFH tables.
  2. Run the cleanup report, which will clean up all data in the tables listed above.
  3. Run this test report.
  4. If differences are found between the results of the full DGP check and the results of the delta DGP check, and if you are sure that no import or buffer change on any systems from the source to the target system has happened during the test, contact SAP for support.
