Purpose

Enable automatic content change notifications to notify content consumers on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) when there is new content available in the system. The new content will then be automatically fetched by the launchpads on SAP BTP.

To enable this functionality, the system uses callback URLs that are provided by each content provider in the launchpads on SAP BTP. These callback URLs are called when new content is available.

Integration

Prerequisites

Create an RFC destination of type "G" (HTTP Connections to External Server) in transaction SM59 or select "Maintain RFC destinations" from the Goto menu.

You must enter the host of the callback URL in the "Host" field in the Technical Settingsas well as activate SSL in the Logon & Securitysettings for each of the RFC destinations used for content change notification.

The second step is to register this RFC destination for content change notification by using transaction /UI2/CDM3_EXP_CCNREGor selecting the "Register RFC destinations" from the Goto menu.

Features

Selection

Standard Variants

Output

The output of this report displays a table with the status for each callback URL and the status of the last call.

It also shows the number of retry attempts that were done for each content consumer, as well as the date and time of the last call.

Activities

The output of this report displays a table that shows the current state of all enabled content consumers.

With the Send button you have the possibility to send content change notifications manually.

The Delete button deletes the callback URL from the database. This disables the automatic content synchronization, until the next request from SAP BTP reaches the system and requests this functionality.

Example

The greenicon in the Callback Statuscolumn indicates that the automatic content synchronization for this content provider is working correctly and will be called when new content is available.

A yellowicon in the Callback Status indicates, that this callback is automatically scheduled to be retried with the report /UI2/CDM3_EXP_CCN_RETRY. This report is scheduled automatically in the background, once a call gets a 5XX return code and retries all repeatable failed content change notifications.

If the Callback Status shows a redicon, the automatic content synchronization is not working properly. To fix this, a manual synchronization of the content provider on SAP BTP is required.
