Purpose

Expose your launchpad content to launchpads on SAP BTP. For further information, see the documentation.

Note that the tool works across users. This means that another admin with access can overwrite your saved or exposed content.

Integration

Prerequisites

Make sure that you have met all prerequisites before you expose content to your launchpad. See the prerequisites.

Seehere to find the settings related to the content exposure. The relevant settings start with the prefix EXPOSURE_.

Features

Options for Content Exposure

You can choose between two options to expose your content:

1. All roles with launchpad content

All roles with exposable launchpad content will be exposed.

2. Selected roles in areas (all roles in all areas will be exposed)

This function allows you to select specific roles or bundle several roles in a specific area.

Areas enable the content administrator to define his own role set and to provide him with a better overview of existing roles. Additionally, a dedicated area preview allows the administrator to view the exposed role content of the selected area.

Areas can be defined by the content admin under Goto > Maintain Areas. To view the select options of all defined areas, choose Goto > View All Areas.

All roles from allareas with launchpad content will be exposed. It does not matter which area is currently displayed in the selection of the report. The content of all areas is combined and exposed together.

Excluded roles that are included in another area will still be exposed, as they are required in the context of the other area.

For more information about maintaining and viewing areas, see thedocumentation.

Selection

Perform the following steps to expose the launchpad content:

  1. Choose the launchpad content that you want to expose by selecting the relevant roles. You have the option to expose
  • All roles with launchpad content

  • Selected roles in areas (all roles in all areas will be exposed)

  1. Choose Save Selected Rolesto save the selection you have defined. Note that it is mandatory to save your selection before exposure. The previous selection will be completely overwritten, so be careful not to accidentally delete roles that are already exposed.
  2. For a preview of your defined area content, click Preview Area Content. A new window is presented to you where you can see the content of the area you have selected. Click a node in the tree to view the content in JSON format in the window on the right side.
  3. To preview the content of all roles in all areas, click Preview Content.
  4. If you are satisfied with your selection, you can go back and expose your content.
  5. Click Expose Contentto expose your defined content to the file repository. Note that if you expose selected roles, all roles in all areas that are maintained under Maintain Areas will be exposed. With the next OData service call from launchpads on SAP BTP, your content will be retrieved and visible.

Additional Features:

  • ClickView Exposed Contentto see a history of previously exposed successful versions. In the window on the left side, you see a list of the exposed versions. When you click on a row, a list of the related content is shown in the window on the right side. In the dropdown above, you can choose whether you want to see changes of the full version (Full version Content) or the delta changes (Changes in Version) only.
  • Click View Logto view the application logs of the exposed content to analyze the logs and messages and get more information about them.
  • Click Content Change Notifications to manage the content change notifications. If content change notifications are activated, all assigned content consumers will get notified when there is new content available. For further information see the documentation.

Standard Variants

Output

The report always checks the launchpad content of the currently selected roles and writes the entities into the file repository once you click Expose Content. Your content can then be retrieved by launchpads on SAP BTP.

The file repository will be cleaned up automatically by default according to the value in the launchpad setting EXPOSURE_REPOSITORY_EXPIRATION_DAYS. The default value is set to 100 days. To disable the automatic clean up, you may set the value to 0.
