Purpose

You can use the Mass Maintenance Tool (transaction MM_APP) to create application descriptors for all the Web Dynpro ABAP applications and SAP GUI transactions that you want to integrate in the launchpad. To make the technical catalogs referencing these application descriptors available in the launchpad during the development phase, you replicate them from the back-end system to the front-end system using a single system alias.

This report is not recommended for content delivered by SAP. For this use case, use the report /UI2/CDM_GET_APPDES_REMOTE_ALL.

Integration

Prerequisites

  • A technical catalog with application descriptor has been created in a back-end system (or the same system in case of a single system setup).
  • If the launchpad content that you want to replicate resides on a different system than the front-end server and SAP Gateway:
  • Connections between back-end and front-end systems have been established. See Establish RFC and HTTP Connection. In a single system setup, this configuration is not required. The replication will use the local system as source.

  • The system alias pointing to the relevant back-end system has been maintained in view /UI2/V_SYSALIAS or /UI2/VC_SYSALIAS.

Activities

  1. In the Replication System Alias field, enter the name of the system alias for which the catalogs should be replicated. This is an alias maintained in view /UI2/V_SYSALIAS or /UI2/VC_SYSALIAS.
  2. (Optional) In the Destination Alias field, enter the name of the destination system alias.
  3. (Optional) In the Catalog ID field, enter the name of the technical catalog which you want to replicate.
  4. Choose a replication mode:
    1. Delta replication: The selected catalogs are only replicated if changes were made since the last replication.
    2. Full replication: All selected catalogs are replicated.
  5. Mark the Test Mode checkbox and choose Execute. The catalogs will not be replicated. A log is displayed.
  6. If the log does not contain any errors, unmark the Test Modecheckbox and choose Execute.
