Purpose

Deletes a file in the layered repository (LRep).

Selection

The namespace, name, type and layer of the file must be specified. Note that file namespace and file name are case-sensitive. If the file to be deleted is assigned to a package which requires recording into a transport request then the Id of a modifiable transport request must be specified in addition. If you want to delete a file in the USER layer for a user that is not the current logon user than you must specify the Id of this user in field "User name". When the deletion of the file triggers load regeneration (example: deletion of a change) it is possible that during load update an exception is raised due to a failed merge of a change preventing file deletion. If you want that a failed merge of a change does not trigger an exception than you have to uncheck the checkbox 'Propagate change merge exception'. In case the file that you want to delete is an activated .version file or is assigned to an activated .version file deletion will fail unless you check "Allow for activated version". If you want to delete multiple LRep files that have the same namespace, type and layer you can provide their names as a list (one name per line) in a .txt file that you can specify in field 'Path of file with names' (field 'Name' can then be left empty).
