Functionality

The function module is used to update exchange rates. The function module checks whether or not a data record already exists for the key entered. The key consists of all input parameters that are not optional parameters.

The possible input values are either saved as fixed values in the system or are checked against the Customizing settings. The dialog transaction for this function module can be found in the SAP menu by choosing: Bank Analyzer -> Financial Database -> Primary Objects -> Market Data -> Exchange Rates. Here you can see why the function module behaves as it does.

Data can be deleted in the system only by using a 'logical deletion'. This is controlled by the STATUS parameter.

In order to definitively post the data to the database, the user must explicitly execute the CommitWork command (by calling the BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT function module, for example).
