Functionality

The Analytics range of coverage indicates the number of days left until stock runs out, based on the current stock and the forecasted sales. The planned goods receipts and planned goods issues can also be taken into account, depending on Customizing and which module requests the range of coverage. The Replenishment Workbench and Analytics can request calculation of the range of coverage, and the calculation is done differently for each of them.

  • For Analytics, the range of coverage takes into account the current stock, the forecasted sales and the planned goods issues. The planned goods issues may or may not be included in the calculation depending on Analytics Customizing.
  • For the Replenishment Workbench, the range of coverage takes into account the current stock, the forecasted sales, the planned goods receipts, the planned goods issues and an extra quantity that can be sent to the function.

Example

  • Range of coverage (RCOV) calculation for Analytics:
For each location product supplied, the following calculation is performed for every day until the forecast horizon is reached:
current stock (or estimated stock) - daily forecast day1 - planned goods issues day1
If the result is not 0 (or less), the RCOV is incremented by 1 and the caculation continues with:
result - daily forecast day1 - planned goods issues day1
until a result of 0 (or less) is reached.

  • Range of coverage (RCOV) calculation for the Replenishment Workbench:
For each location product supplied, the following calculation is performed for every day until forecast horizon is reached:
current stock (or estimated stock) + quantity_to_add day1
- daily forecast day1
+ planned goods receipts day1
- planned goods issues day1
If the result is not 0 (or less), the RCOV is incremented by 1 and the caculation continues with:
result + quantity_to_add day1
- daily forecast day1
+ planned goods receipts day1
- planned goods issues day1
until a result of 0 (or less) is reached.
