Functionality
This heuristic is used for continuous or discrete requirements and receipts.
Before using the heuristic, the situation is such that planning has caused receipts to be shifted from requirements and some requirements are therefore no longer covered.
The heuristic tries to reschedule all requirements so that they are covered.
Only dependent requirements from stock transfer and in-house production are considered. Planned independent requirements and sales orders are not affected by the heuristic.
The procedure considers components on the same level. The aim is therefore always to achieve an optimum that is sufficient for all components. After the heuristic is executed, all requirements should be covered, provided there is a large enough quantity of receipts.
The heuristic also considers lead times, only fully scheduled orders, if required, and a scheduling horizon that you can specify.
Procedure
The PEGIDs to be planned are processed sequentially. All the continuous receipt nodes and all the continuous requirements nodes for each PEGID are listed in an individual table. The heuristic then processes all the requirements nodes in chronological order and tries to cover them using the polygon curve from the receipts table.
First, all the requirements with fixed pegging relationships are shifted. If the pegged quantity is not sufficient, receipts without fixed pegging relationships are used to cover requirements after the end date of the last pegged receipt. Part segments from the receipts polygon are determined here. These cover the requirements quantities and are used to calculate a new start date/time.
Advantages and disadvantages of the procedure
For performance reasons, if only discrete nodes exist in the planning area, it is recommended that you only use the heuristic to reschedule discrete nodes.
