Functionality

Use this function module to migrate plant related material classifications with commodity codes into the new data model. The new model is not plant related anymore and now uses numbering schemes for classifications, which are determined in the program. In general, the plant in parameter IT_PLANT_DATA is used to determine the plant-country and depending on that the numbering scheme assigned to this country.

New classifications are time-dependent and the validity of those records are based on the validity of the commodity code instance found in the system. If several instances of the same commodity code are found, the currently valid one will be used. If no such instance exists, the chronologically last one is used.

Furthermore, due to the change in the data model the program ensures that the classification is not ambiguous on numbering scheme level. This can especially be the case when different plants of the same country are not classified with the same commodity code.

Please also note that the function module expects that the following prerequisites are met:

• Commodity Code Numbering Schemes are assigned to Countries in view /SAPSLL/V_TUNS01

• Commodity Codes are maintained for relevant Numbering Schemes

• Plants are maintained in table T001w
