Functionality

When this function module is used in a rule set activity, document flow (DF) can be updated when an event message is processed for an event handler.

Example

The standard purchasing visibility process tracks on purchase order item level. The purchase order header (PO header) and items (PO items) can be updated in DF by means of the event handler update. During the rest of the process, event messages are sent to the PO items, for example, for reporting the posted delivery. A DF group needs to be created, and a rule set activity with the DF group name as the parameter must be assigned to the rule set PCM10_ITEM for event handler type PCM10_ITEM. The DF group contains settings to update the delivery as well as the link to the PO item.

Notes

The following settings are necessary:

- Define a document flow group (transaction /SAPTRX/TSC0DF).

- Create a rule set activity function including a task that points to this function and enter the name of the document flow group as Parameter 1 (transaction /SAPTRX/TSC0TP1).

- Assign this activity to a rule set (transaction /SAPTRX/TSC0TR) and use a rule set condition if required.

Return codes:

- If Parameter 1 is not filled, the activity returns the exporting parameter e_return_code = 1.

- If any inconsistencies or exceptions occur during the document flow update, the activity returns an exporting parameter e_return_code with a value of 3 or higher, and updates the application log at the same time.
