Functionality

This function module contributes to saving the result of a Vehicle Space Optimization run in the database.

The /VSO/P_PREP_OPRT_DATA function module collects those result data of Vehicle Space Optimization from the interface which are relevant to the succeeding storage process, enriches and uses them to build up the respective internal global tables.

The enrichment process includes the following activities:

• Assigning a unique item number within a packing proposal of Vehicle Space Optimization

• Changing the layer number for items without a definite layer structure to a value which is 1 higher than that of the last 'real' layer

• Determining the process category of Vehicle Space Optimization (at header and item level)

• Copying the line number (LANE_NUM) for material-specific layers only.
