Functionality

This remote function call connects the frontend application to get recommendations based on user interests.

For a particular user the remote function call gets the course types based on the product groups, delivery methods, location and languages.

It also gets personalized recommendations that contain courses that are part of the same curriculum, course program or course bundle (if applicable), and courses that were also booked by other learners who have booked this product (course type) previously. These also include successive courses that the learner has booked or completed.

Features

Course type recommendations can also be provided based on the training history available for the learner’s profile.

Recommendations for a learner will include:

  • If the learner has selected the Recommendation checkbox on his training history page then the recommendations will be the follow-up courses for the courses already booked by the learner.
  • All courses will be available in the users' preferred languages. If users' preferred languages are English and German, then all the courses will be available in either of the languages.
  • All event-based courses that have the same location as maintained by learners in their preferred locations.
  • All courses that have the same delivery method as maintained by learners in their preferred delivery methods.
  • All courses which contain the keywords as maintained by learners in their profile.

You apply filters to the found recommendations to remove courses that have already been bought by the learners. You can check the training history of the learner to filter out already consumed courses or to remove all courses that are not available in learners' catalog.
