| This parameter defines the supported conversions "Open SQL for Java" |
| when reading or writing character-type data. Set the parameter in |
| accordance with the system code pages used in the system landscape. |
| The following values are possible: |

| |
| 0 ==> Set this value in a purely Unicode system landscape. There are |
| no restrictions when reading or writing data using Open SQL |
| Java. |
| 1 ==> All non-Unicode systems of a system landscape have the same |
| system code page. In this case, Open SQL for Java checks that |
| only characters from this code page can be written. |
| 2 ==> There are non-Unicode systems with different system code pages |
| in the system landscape. In this case, only 7 bit ASCII |
| characters can be written using Open SQL for Java, since a |
| loss-free reconversion to Java (UTF16 Unicode) can only be |
| guaranteed for these characters. |
