If you use 'array fetch', several data records can be read
from the database with an SQL statement. This reduces the number
of communications between the application host and the
database host, and therefore reduces the network traffic.

If you switch off 'array fetch', read accesses are implicitly
reproduced on 'bulk fetch' (non-transparent pre-fetch of data
records), which is not as efficient as 'array fetch' and conceals
somes problems in the SAP environment for high parallelism.

The maximum number of data records transferred with a statement
| when using 'array fetch' is controlled by the size of the buffer |
| for selections of the DB interface. The corresponding profile |
| parameter is 'dbs/inf/select_buffer_size'. |
| If 'array fetch' is deactivated, only the 'homerows' of data are |
| transferred in one buffer. This is all data without BLOB data. |
| The maximum size of this buffer is then reduced. |
| Read the information in the description of this parameter. |

| If 'array fetch' is deactivated, then the optimized message |
| transmission must also be deactivated. This happens automatically. |
