Answering my own questions:

> 1. Who of us has this huge amount of free DASD?
We do not.

> 2. How do you manage such situations?
When watching the system during the day, we already had some
"opportunities" to catch the exploding WP, before it could kill
the machine.

> 3. Has your prod system already crashed with 100% system ASP?
Yes. Once.
According to Murphy this happened last saturday, just one hour
before me and my wife wanted to escape into the hills of the
Muehlviertel (Very pleasant surrounding at the north border of
Austria, much wood, much snow, fresh air, nice people, ...)
for a NYEve party...
The good news: It was not the hospital server, only the HR machine...

> 4. What does SAP say to this except "reduce selected data"?
There were some slight improvements over time, I suppose,
but I do not know of any massive one.

> 5. What does IBM say - technically! I know what the salesmen say 😉
The german IBMer I had on the hotline last saturday told me
that other applications also show such greed sometimes...

> 6. Is this an AS/400 specific effect?
A question for the ISICC?

> 7. Who has a good program plugged into QIBM_QWC_QStgLowAcn
> to keep the prod system alive?
I only have some ideas, but no code yet.
I tend to stopping SAP and restarting it. Then it should send
an alarm. But when the limit is reached again after a short
period, this should not cycle, but stop SAP permanently...
When I keep meditating over it, I begin to wish to have some
sort of monitor running instead of a program being activated at
one single point on the scale...

Kind regards
