TempStg Explosion (was: What is Temporary Storage Explanation )
BillThat's sound perfect. But you might forget that QSYSMSG is not an installed
message queue on the AS/400, you have to create-it. For the people how don't
know about the QSYSMSG queue IBM as coded all its hardware and some security
related message to right a copy of the message that is sent to the QSYSOPR
message queue. If the queue is created all hardware related messages are
sent to that queue as well as QSYSOPR. It's easier to look at the QSYSMSG
rather than find a message in the QSYSOPR queue.
For anybody how want's it I have a word document that list all the possible
messages sent to the QSYSMSG queue with possible action.
To create the queue
CRTMSGQ MSGQ(QSYS/QSYSMSG)
The queue must reside in library QSYS

Have you thought of monitoring the QSYSMSG msgq?
A message CPI0953 would be sent there when your disk
space threshold is passed.
A simple CL program could monitor for the message and
keep track of the number of times the message was
received and do different processing each time.
