e-group 101 - how to REPLY to a message

Don't hope we lose members - somehow I liked Rudi's old Linz'er list more -

Klaus

Crosby,

Today the e-group has changed to consolut.group. To subscribe go to website
http://groups.consolut.net/group/SAP on System i
<http://groups.consolut.net/group/SAP on System i> and follow the instructions to
subscribe. Note, however, that messages should not go to the consolutgroup
directly but continue to go to sap400Zm... (including replies). The
consolutgroup is posted from SAP400 mail.

You will probably get details from Rudi and Volker (owners of the
consolutgroup)
after you subscribe.

I prefer the web group over my private mail for many reasons - my work mail
box
is not stuffed with mail from the group, the history is stored for me, and
the
messages are arranged by thread with search capability. I don't have to
manage
any of it to keep it around and in good order.

hope this helps,
Betsy

For those of you who have elected to unsubscribe to the sap400 group and
maintain membership only in the SAP on System i e-group, I need some help.

How do you handle a REPLY to a message? I see my choices as:

1) Replying to the message from within the e-group. Then there is no way
for
me to send to the sap400 group - which is what Rudi and Volker want (and I
agree
with).

2) Replying to the message from within my own mail. Then I need to cut and
paste the message from e-group into my own mail, which is doable, but then
the
thread is lost in the e-group since this a new message to the sap400 group.
One of the best features of the e-group (besides the history) is the view by
thread.

Am I missing something? what to do?
Betsy
