4.6C Upgrade suggestion for SGEN--index on UPGLDGEN
We're going through another practice upgrade of our 3.1H to 4.6C.I know Doreen has expressed concern in the past about ICNV, and our SGEN
seems to run very slowly as well.
I did a trace on ICNV and saw no obvious room for improvement. But SGEN was
spending a considerable amount of time executing an UPDATE on UPGLDGEN,
WHERE OBJECT=? and OBJ_NAME = ?.
I created an index on UPGLDGEN for those two fields, in that order, and SGEN
seems to be running much faster now.
