Sizing information for BW needed.

Here at IBM we have formed a workgroup to ensure we size Business Warehouse
accurately.

We need help from our customers to do this. If there are customers
running BW on the iSeries, then please send me as much of the following
information, in whatever fomat you wish, and I will collate and introduce
it to our sizing team here at the ISICC.

Related to this, we have great interest in people who have implemented BW
in a partition, and what your experiences have been like so far. So let me
know about this as well, if you can (we have some doubters out there who
don't believe partitions work!)

Please send this information to me instead of posting it on the group as I
think it would be of little interest to the group. However, I will
continue to keep you all iup to date on any general changes to BW sizing
based on this data. I could also provide a summary if people were
interested (and we received enough information!)

General

Which DBMS was selected (version and patchlevel)?

What is the system platform?

How does the configuration look like (2 tier or 3 tier)?

If application servers are used, what is the number of application servers?

Memory:

How many memory is installed on the database server (RAM/Swap)?

How many memory is installed on each application server (RAM/Swap)?

CPU:

How many CPUs are installed on the database server?
What type of processor is used and what is its rate?
Number of CPUs on application servers and the distribution of this CPUs on

Average CPU consumption (in %)?

Configuration:

How many workprocesses are configured on each application server?
How many named users?
Average number of concurrent users?

Size of SAP buffer (PXA, Single record, Generic key, Export/Import)?
Size of the database buffer?

Network:

What is the end-user network bandwidth?
What is the server network bandwidth?

Datavolume:

Initial load volume?
Daily load volume and timeframe?
Number of active used infocubes?
Data volume in these infocubes (lines/diskspace)?
Are aggregates used? Ratio of diskspace (infocube/aggregates of an
infocube)?
Data volume in ODS (only BW 2.0)?
Data volume in PSA?

Queries:

Percentage of queries which do not use aggregates?
Average mean runtime of queries

Thanks for any of you that respond..
