Rif: Heterogeneous setup
Hi,
we have DEV & TST on NT Server and PRD system on AS/400, for /usr/sap/trans
share, after many test we preferd to use /QNTC ( to share from NT to AS/400
)
fs because in generaly is more faster and is so simply to administration,
sometimens NT R/3 server on TRANS_DIR check fail to connect on 31H when you
shere /usr/sap/trans from AS/400 to NT with NetServer.
The /QNTC fs config is so simply, if you need that I can write the
procedure
on thi list.
After that we have start TMS to connect DEV, TST and PRD ... so change
request transport is simply, trasparent and no NT or AS know-how is needed
In the past we try to make a remote client copy from AS/400 to NT without
success, we try client export from AS/400 to NT but is not confortable if
you
think that there is a limt 2GB in fs files, so if you have a 70GB database
you must create ( with stop-restart export procedure ) may export files.

If you use NFS, that runs well on AS/400, on NT server you must bye a
client/server NFS services as Tune/Esker
or Sun PC-NSF like.
