Co-exist SAP with Legacy System
For a while we ran our legacy system on our production boxwithout any problems. The legacy system was only used for
order history, warrant type of information so the load was very
light. We eventually moved the legacy system to our development
box to free up some DASD.
It is important that you understand that SAP requires a LOT
of resources. Think BIG. Do not short change yourself
on memory or CPU or you will be in for a lot of grief.
The good news is that the AS400 has grown to the point
that their is plenty of hardware available. If some sizing
guru gives you a minimum / maximum system size,
error on the high side.
Take care, Charlie
