ASP2 and JRNRCV's
Jim,We have 2 4GB drives assigned to ASP2 which are part of a RAID5
parity set. This parity set is split between ASP1 and ASP2. I rarely see
disk arm utilizations greater than 8% in ASP2. We have a CL program that
saves the JRNRCV's off to 8MM tape and then deletes the JRNRCV from the
ASP2, if it cannot delete the receiver due to commit locks the JRNRCV is
also saved to a SAVF. This SAVF is checked every time the CL program runs
(every 2hrs it re-submits). The ASP2 rarely overflows as we usually have
less than 2hrs of JRNRCV's physically on the system. The journal tapes are
sent offsite daily along with our daily saves.
