Stream file ownership

In our system, 45B, IFS objects created by open dataset have a default
primary group <sid>GROUP.

My guess is try changing the directory's primary group to R3OWNER. Then
R3OWNER will, by default, have authorisation to the objects created in the
directory.

Subject: Stream file ownership

Greetings fellow saplings,

We are using the open dataset op code to create stream files on the AS/400
which are later read by an ftp script & bat file on a presentation server
(by logging on in the script file as another member of the R3OWNER group
profile). The problem is that the stream files are owned by SAP01 (not it's
group profile R3OWNER) and the primary group is *none. As a consequence, the
user specified in the ftp script file does not have authority to the stream
files. I do NOT want to specify the password for SAP01 in a script file. The
user profile SAP01 has parameter GRPPRF = R3OWNER and parameter OWNER =
*GRPPRF. Does this not work with stream files? (Obviously it isn't). Do I
need to change something else to get R3OWNER to own everything that SAP01
creates (like it's supposed to)?

Thanks in advance,
Rick
