This is MY crack at documenting the parameters for the STARTRFC command.
Note the UNIX "switches"
are delimited by ' ' (single quotes). Also note the UPPER and lower case!
Use the following syntax in your CL program:
SBMJOB CMD(CALL PGM(STARTRFC)
PARM('-3' <- R/3 system ('hard-code' if you
wish)
'-d' <- System switch
'DEV' <- System ID
'-u' <- User ID switch
'R3USER' <- User ID value
'-p' <- Password switch
'PASSWORD' <- Password (unencrypted)
'-c' <- Client Number switch
'010' <- Client Number value
'-l' <- Language ID switch
'E' <- Language ID value
'-h' <- Application Server
'APPSERV1' <- Application Server value
'-s' <- System Number switch (very
important!)
'00' <- System Number Value
'-g' <- Gateway Server switch
'APPSERV1' <- Gateway Server Value
'-x' <- Gateway switch
'sapgw00' <- Gateway Value
'-F' <- R/3 Function Module switch (to
process stream file)
'EDI_DATA_INCOMING' <- R/3 Function Module value
'-E' <- Path to stream file
'PATHNAME=/usr/sap/interfaces/filename.file' <- path name

'-E' <- ALE Port name switch
'PORT=EDI_PORT' <- ALE Port name value (for inbound
idocs)

not wanted)

Hi, could someone please explain the meaning of these parameters:
startrfc.exe -d P01 -u dd01 -p cdd01 -c 010 -l s -gui -F Z_TF_SD5
-d SID
-u user
-p password ???
-c client
-l ????
-F ????
When we execute the call a dump is generate in the system:
RFC_ATTACH_GUI_FAILED
start 'sapgui' failed.
The program start in a NT client, where the only that was changed is
the hard disk.
