Press Release Friday on iSeries

SAP and IBM Deliver Global Language Support for mySAP.com® on IBM eServer
iSeries

Companies also Announce Availability of Support for Windows® 2000
Application Server

Walldorf, Germany, and Armonk, N.Y., Nov. 9, 2001 ? SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) and
IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced delivery of Global Language Support (GLS)
for mySAP.com® solutions on IBM eServer iSeries products. The two
companies also announced controlled availability of new support for
Windows® 2000 application servers connected to IBM DB2 Universal Database
for iSeries.

The language support provided by GLS for mySAP.com solutions on IBM eServer
iSeries supports traditional single-byte languages, as well as Asian
double-byte languages like Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese and
Simplified Chinese. The choice of Windows 2000 application servers will
allow SAP® solutions running on IBM eServer iSeries to be configured with a
heterogeneous combination of Windows 2000 and iSeries application servers,
increasing the flexibility of application server support on the iSeries
platform.

"Developing the use of mySAP.com solutions on IBM eServer iSeries
demonstrates SAP's commitment to iSeries as an important platform for
mySAP.com e-business solutions," said Kim Stevenson, vice president of IBM
eServer iSeries Marketing Operations. "The strong relationship between IBM
and SAP will allow us to quickly bring this support to iSeries customers."

"Global Language Support for mySAP.com solutions on IBM eServer iSeries
allows us to support our Asian Language requirements and to mix languages
that are on different code pages. This helps us to consolidate our
business worldwide," said Christian Otte, project manager and system
administrator, iSeries, VEKA AG, Germany. "We will be able to run all the
operations for us and our subsidiaries in Poland, Russia and also China, in
one single mySAP.com solution environment on iSeries."

Windows 2000 application server support is in controlled availability and
requires the use of the GLS for SAP solutions on IBM eServer iSeries. The
hallmarks of integration, reliability and ease of use of the iSeries
database server -- with leading-edge partitioning and workload management
capabilities -- combine with the powerful IBM eServer xSeries server to
provide a consolidated approach to multiple SAP solutions on a single
database server.

"We have listened to our customers and answered their requirements for
providing full mySAP.com solution support in an iSeries environment," said
Stephan Rossius, vice president of Global Partner Management, SAP AG. "IBM
eServer iSeries represented, from the beginning, a real ease-of-use
environment with proven reliability and availability. The goal of our
strategy is to provide our customers with an environment that unlocks the
full potential of integration and collaboration."
