Hi Gerd,
Thanks for your intrest. I solved the problem. The job log massage confused
me. The error message was in the SAP00 spool file. It was a autority
problem. When i give *ALLOBJ autority to the SAP00 user than every thing
work fine.
By the way 40B Kernel patch 749 work very well with the OS/400 5.1. I
upgrarde the system from 4.4 to 5.1, than apply APAR II12833, delete SQL
packages and strat SAP, thats all.

Volker, that's the same problem I had reported a couple of weeks back.
After checking my own system I found the error as well.
Following your checklist my profiles have all code page 500 and the
contents is EBCDIC.
The same is valid on my customers system. Code page 500 and EBCDIC
contents.

are you sure, that the profiles are OK and not corrupt because of mixed
up
codepages ?
Please check the profiles with the codepage with option 8 with WRKLNK.
When
it is 500, it should be OK, but when it was 819, 850, 437 or 1252 be
careful. Then probably the contents is EBCDIC and only the attribute is
ASCII. You could check this with option 5 and then F10, if you then see
ASCII or EBCDIC characters.
This happens often, when you use a binary share with your NT-Explorer to
AS/400 and then a copy.
