How often do you have to delete SQL packages?

Hi Charlie,

If those "database" errors are SQL errors (from the message file QSQLMSG in
lib QSYS):

SQL0303: "Host variable &2 not compatible."
SQL0443: "Trigger program or external routine detected an error"
SQL0615: "Object &1 in &2 type *&3 not dropped. It is in use"

Does BW do a lot of indexing rebuilding? (lots of dropping and re-creating
after data loads) Just a guess.

We usually only delete SQL packages after kernel upgrades or LCP / HotPack
upgrades. Not sure if that's even necessary, but we've been bit a few times
so we do it as a matter of procedure. (And of course, whenever the "bizarre
database problem that can't be solved by other means" issue arises too).

Rick

Thanks Volker

FYI, we have R3 and SEM system on 46C with the same PTFs level, same OS
version as BW
However, the database errors only occur on BW.

This is strange to me.
Any comments?
