printer pooling on as/400
Hi, Mike.
If I'm reading your message correctly, then YES, you can use remote OUTQ's
on the AS/400. All our printing from SAP is done via remote OUTQ's on our
AS/400. In SAP we define all our laser printers as HPLJ5SI and any dot
matrix printers as IBM4232 (which we've customized a bit and called
ZIBM4232). The destination (in SAP) is QUSRSYS/ZABC, where the ZABC is the
SAP printer/device and we have a corresponding OUTQ in the QUSRSYS library
called ZABC. In the OUTQ definition, we specify the remote address, either
IP or a name configured in TCP/IP (host table) and RAW1 as the queue. Then
we specify the connection type as *IP, the destination type as *OTHER and
the manufacturere type and model as *HP5. This setup has worked very well
for us.
I don't know if this answers your query, but let me know if you want/need
more info.

Please respond to
SAP on System i
Does anybody know if you can create a printer pool on an as/400 using
remote
out queues to print? If so, is there any problems using it with SAP?
Thanks
~Mike
