Q1:
You have to create an activity group (Tools-->Administrations--> Activity
group) with the following authorization object:
MM_G, M_MATE_STA (Utilities -- Technical Names on)
In the "Activity" field you can define the activity (maintain, change,
display) in general.
In the field "maintenance status of material" you can define the view which
can be maintained by this authorization object.
Q2: a protection on field level is not possible.

Dear all,
Need some help on this...
Q1) In the transactions mm02(change material master) and mm03(display
material master), is it possible to protect or secure by views?
Meaning, allow only selected views for a user. For example, user A
can update the Purchasing View but user B can only display the
Purchasing View.
Q2) Also, is it possible to protect/secure down to field level in
each view?
