CPI1466 during Backup

Hello,

This is interesting for me - in our daily backups (SAP is active) we also
have the message CPI1466 that says we have 60000 locks. We are using
SAVACT(*LIB)!

Regards,

Jay

Sorry for the last mail-error!

Hi Peter + Dieter,

but 60000 is pretty high, because we do have only 20000 - 30000 per
R3SIDDATA. It sounds to me, that here is backuped as follows:
SAVLIB SAVACT(*SYNCLIB)

I would suggest to use the following approach:
SAVLIB SAVACT(*LIB)
Then you should only see the message about 30000 locks and it is a lot more
convinient for the system.

Regards

Volker

Hi Peter,

don't worry about this warning.
Ignore it - it is absolute normal that this message is given by the OS
joblog if you backup the R3<SID>DATA.

Betreff: CPI1466 during Backup

Hi,

I have some problem with the backup of our system, I'm using the standard
AS/400
backup and the SAP system is stopped before
the backup is started.
The backup looks OK, but i always receive following message.

Message ID . . . . . . : CPI1466 Severity . . . . . . . : 10
Message type . . . . . : Information
Date sent . . . . . . : 28/03/02 Time sent . . . . . . : 04:49:32

Message . . . . : Job holds large number of locks.
Cause . . . . . : The job 152565/QSYSOPR/QEZBKTMTHU has 60000 locks.
60000
is a suspiciously large number of locks, and it indicates that an
application may be leaving locks behind.

Anyone knows how to solve this ??

( 60000 -> We are running DEV and PRO on 1 box, but both are stopped at
the
same time)

Thanks.

Peter Jacques.
