OS/DB migration, heterogeneous DB-copy, alternative approaches (cheaper)
Hi Peter,yes, like I told you, the SAP migration services consist of 3 sessions, one
for the prject plan, one for the hardware configuration check before
migration and one session after the migration. It's very similiar to the
GoingLive Services. Nevertheless there are different strategies how you do
the migration. In any case you should migrate the PRD system twice, not as a
second chance but to get enough information when you migrate the first time.
Furthermore you should consider how you set up your new customizing system
and your new QAS. You can do it by a homogenous system copy on the new
target platform or you can migrate them from your old source system. In my
opinion this depends on the quality of your existing system landscape.

Don't take this migration project as a very simple project. It takes
about 10 to 20 days.

We are not taking it as a simple project. We are preparing now for a PRD
migration on 1 Nov. (All Saints' Day - long week-end) with a second
chance on 11 Nov. (Armistice Day - another long week-end).

Only for PRD systems you need as well the special services from SAP.

Is that some sort of health check / sanity check before and/or after the
migration (similar to the GoingLive check)?
