OS/DB migration, heterogeneous DB-copy, al ternative approaches (cheaper)

Hi Peter,

you should do the first test on the new NT hardware just during the week. If
the end-users are satisfied and did there testing similar to the tests after
an upgrade, you can be sure that the final migration will work fine as well.

You can collect time-needs as well there, because you often do have the
problem, that it is really timeconsuming.

How large is your PRD database ?
Because if it was more then 100GB you should take more things into account
in order to speed things.

Regards

Volker

Thank you for your reactions.

---
Don't take this migration project as a very simple project. It takes
about 10 to 20 days.
---
We are not taking it as a simple project. We are preparing now for a PRD
migration on 1 Nov. (All Saints' Day - long week-end) with a second
chance on 11 Nov. (Armistice Day - another long week-end).

---
Only for PRD systems you need as well the special services from SAP.
---
Is that some sort of health check / sanity check before and/or after the
migration (similar to the GoingLive check)?
